Additional Information

The Blue Gold Chalice (Echinophyllia sp.) is a stunning LPS coral prized for its rich metallic blue base and bright golden to orange “eye” corallites. Under blue LED lighting, the gold centres glow intensely, creating an ultra-contrasting, high-end display that stands out even in heavily stocked tanks.

Chalice corals thrive in low to moderate lighting (PAR 60–120) and low to moderate water flow, which helps maintain their colouration and prevents tissue recession. This coral prefers placement on the lower rockwork or sandbed, where its plating or encrusting growth pattern can spread naturally.

Although mostly peaceful, the Blue Gold Chalice can extend sweeper tentacles up to 3–5 cm at night, so spacing is recommended. Feed weekly with fine meaty foods — mysis, brine, reef roids, or LPS pellets — to enhance colour vibrancy, growth, and eye development.
