Additional Information

The Green Blastomusa (Blastomussa sp.) is a highly desired LPS coral known for its vibrant fluorescent green polyps that expand into thick, pillowy heads. Under blue lighting, the green coloration intensifies dramatically, creating a soft, glowing effect that stands out even in mixed reefs. Common species include Blastomussa wellsi (large polyps) and Blastomussa merleti (smaller polyps), both offering stunning colour and gentle movement.

This coral thrives in low to moderate lighting (PAR 50–120) and low water flow, allowing the tissue to remain inflated and healthy. It is ideal for placement in the lower to middle areas of the tank, on sand or flat rock, where it can form round flower-like clusters.

Green Blastomusa is very peaceful, extending only short tentacles around 1–2 cm at night, making it a safe LPS for community coral layouts. Feeding 1–2 times per week with mysis, brine, or LPS pellets enhances colour, polyp fullness, and growth rate.
