Additional Information
Riccia fluitans is a vibrant, bright green floating liverwort commonly used in freshwater aquascaping. It can be left floating to provide cover for fry and shrimp or tied down to mesh or rocks to create a dense foreground carpet.
Under strong lighting and COâ‚‚ injection, Riccia grows rapidly and forms a thick, cushion-like carpet with intense green colour. It produces visible oxygen bubbles during photosynthesis, adding dynamic movement to planted aquariums.
This plant requires regular trimming when used as a carpet to prevent it from detaching and floating to the surface. It is ideal for nature-style aquascapes, shrimp tanks, and breeding setups where cover is beneficial.
